Arild Vatn is a professor at the Department of International Environmental and Development Studies at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He has worked on environmental issues for most of his active career. He has led the European Society of Ecological Economics and is now the coordinating author of the IPBES Values ​​Assessment.
